Question posted from mystique_dragon4

I am 5 months pregnant with my third child and I have been having so much back pain. I didn’t have this much back pain with my first two. I know it isn’t labor pain because i know how both front and back labor feel likes. Tylenol does not work. I thought maybe a heating pad would help but it only makes me feel hotter than i already am…HELP!
Thank you for all your answers! I will try them all :)

Try a hot bath or a back rub from your hubby!!!! sleep with a pillow between your knees and try not sitting or standing for a long time.

I found immense relief during my first pregnancy simply by sitting on an exercise ball while watching tv or on the pc. I got mine based on my midwife’s recommendation for £5 from Argos.

Also, when you get so big that simply being awake is uncomfortable, the ball is great for leaning on - they recommend them during labour too.

I’m 6 months pregnant now and sitting comfortably on my ball!

It may be that the position of your baby is making you uncomfortable - the position that the ball forces you to sit in helps the baby move about and later, to get into the right position for birth.

In my case, it helped my baby turn around so his spine was no longer paralel to mine. What a relief!!!

Apparantly they’re also good for helping you get your figure back after birth - but I think you have to exercise so I have no experience of that!!

    Good luck.

I take a tennis ball, put it against the wall, and lean into it. The counter pressure feels GREAT on it. Also, if your healthcare provider gives the green light, a hot tub with jets on full feels wonderful.

    Hang in there mama!

    Try doing pelvic rocking.

Schedule a massage. I saw a massage therapist through all three of my PG’s and it REALLY helps a lot. It helps you relax, takes away the aches and pains of PG and helps to balance your body to make labor easier.
