I agree with everything you said, but if I may offer another suggestion? I have some bad discs in my upper back and neck and, especially when I’m stressed, I sometimes start developing a headache, i.e., the back and neck pain can work their way into the base of my skull and cause a whopper of a headache! Something I’ve learned to do (it works for me, but I’m not a medical professional, so maybe ask your doctor about this first) is to lie on my back on my bed so that my head and neck, and sometimes even a little bit of my upper shoulders, are hanging unsupported off the bed, i.e., I just relax and let gravity take that part of my body. It tends to pull some of the tension out of the muscles in my neck and upper back area. I usually stay in that position for 20 or 30 minutes if I have the time, but I kinda worked up to that. Don’t know if it will help others as these things have all sorts of differing causes, but the technique sure has helped me ward off some whoppers!
